Our Mission and Work Ahead
The Velodrome Development Foundation was created to grow and help sustain the sport of cycling in the United States. The Foundation’s first project is the National Sports and Events Center in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This world-class facility will include the National Velodrome, a state-of-the-art indoor velodrome along with custom designed spaces to host other major athletic and entertainment events. The Center’s community outreach programs will provide dynamic and creative outlets for young people to be introduced to cycling.
Designed as a model project, the Foundation’s core mission is to teach life lessons through sports and team building and to inspire today’s youth to incorporate positive habits of fitness and health in their lives. Active partnerships will be established with regional and state organizations to grow and enhance the experience for all and to serve as a template for other facilities around the country.
